Machinga, April 27, Mana: 71-year-old Senior Chief Nsanama of Machinga has died.

Ellen Bikoko Chief Administrative Officer for Machinga District Council said Nsanama died on Saturday due to an asthma attack.

Born Duwa Lapukeni, on January 1, 1954, he was installed Sub Traditional Authority Nsanama in 2006 and installed full Traditional Authority in 2017,

He later became Senior Chief Nsanama in 2020.

Senior Chief Nsanama is survived by a wife, eight children and 24 grandchildren.

He is expected to be laid to rest today (Sunday), at his Masungwi headquarters near Nsanama Trading Center.
