Dedza, August 30, Mana: Country Director for Self Help Africa (SHA), Kate Hartley Louis says there is need for organizations working in similar sectors to collaborate and operate as one entity if they are to achieve greater impact of the services they are providing to communities.
She was speaking during rebranding ceremony of Self Help Africa (SHA) which has merged with United Purpose as they have collective footprint that complement each other in different sectors like agriculture and climate change mitigation interventions.
"The two organizations are very aligned in terms of mission and vision and we decided to come together to have a greater impact collectively.
"The aim for merging is about growth, scaling up and reorganizing operations and new structure to raise our commitment and framework to support Malawi government to achieve vision 2063," she said.
During the ceremony, Self Help Africa also launched a five-year strategic plan which among others, is focusing on agriculture especially on value addition and clean energy on climate change sector.
Programs Manager for Self Help Africa-Dedza District, Blessings Kambombo said their collaboration will not have any impact related to job loss of workers of the two organizations.
Kambombo further said SHA will be providing sub-grants to local organizations to advance their operations towards transforming Malawi to achieve vision 2063.
In her remarks, Dedza District Council Vice Chairperson Shyreen Gamulani hoped that the rebranding will not affect the operations and impact United Purpose was making in the district.
