Chitipa, October 24, Mana: Chitipa District Council says it is geared for the 2nd edition of the K20 million Misuku Motorhino Eco Rally 2024 competition, which will be held on Saturday in Misuku Hills in Chitipa District.
The theme of this year is ‘Conserving natural forests in order to create worth through tourism in hard to reach areas.’
District Commissioner for Chitipa, MacMillan Magomero said that the Misuku Motorhino Eco Rally 2024 has gained international recognition and it has even acquired sponsorship from Motorhino Motorcycles which is specialised in electric vehicles like; motorbike and motorboats.
Magomero said this during the District Executive Committee (DEC) meeting on Wednesday in Chitipa.
“We will have the Misuku Motorhino Eco Rally 2024 competition this coming Saturday. And Guest of honour will be Minister of Local Government, Culture and National Unity, Richard Chimwendo Banda.
“Also in attendance will be Minister of Tourism, Verah Kamtukule, and Minister of Youths and Sports Uchizi Mkandawire. This is an important competition as it is in our district reform areas,” Magomero said.
He then asked DEC members and all people to participate as it is the district council's baby.
Country Director for Motorhino Electric Motorcycles, Barros Atupele Mweso, said that a budget was presented and funds were allocated saying that the team is working tirelessly to ensure that all is set by Friday.
“We are expecting fireworks as we will also be unveiling our new Motorcycle, heavy duty model called Rhino X2,” Mweso said.
The K20 million Misuku Motorhino Eco Rally 2024 will be a combined electric and fuel powered motorbike race.
