Liongwe, June 17, Mana: Malawi's culture is gaining global recognition through the Miss Culture Malawi beauty pageant, which showcases the country's rich heritage.

According to the Director of Arts in the Ministry of Local Government, Unity and Culture, Humphrey Mpondaminga, the Miss Culture Queen usually participates in national and international events to promote Malawian culture.

"Miss Culture Queen was a special guest at the 2024 National Conference on Arts and Culture and has been featured at the Euro Film Festival multiple times,” he said.

The pageant's founder, Lorrain Kljaic, revealed that Miss Culture Malawi has established strong partnerships with international beauty pageant organizations that share their vision of cultural celebration and empowerment.

"These partnerships have created valuable opportunities for our queens to participate in cultural exchange programs abroad, where they proudly represent Malawi's heritage on global stages," Kljaic said.

In her remarks, the current Miss Culture Malawi, Wesha MwalaMoyo, revealed that she will represent Malawi in the upcoming Miss Culture and Global pageant.

Mpondaminga emphasized that, "Miss Culture has a special role to promote Malawi as a national brand, making use of the rich heritage of Malawi and other aspects that make Malawi special and unique."

Through this initiative, Malawi's national identity is being promoted globally, showcasing beauty with a purpose that can cross borders and build cultural bridges.
